In 2006. Allison Tandy did a survey of the knowledge of Fairtrade in Jersey, asking a sample of people at several local supermarkets. It was part of her course at Highlands College.
Here are some of her findings

Lower recognition of logo, but 76% understand its meaning
71% had bought Fairtrae products, coffee then bananas and chocolate
Most buy at the Co-op.
Few ask about FT at cafes.
There is a need for stories of people benefitting from Fairtrade.
There is promotion material in the Co-op but not in other shops outside Fairtrade fortnight.
Most people got awareness through shopping
Among her recommendations were taster sessions to introduce people to Fairtrade.
